Compliance & Risk Solicitor - Kent.
Major South East Legal 500 and Chambers ranked practice are looking to recruit an additional Compliance & Risk lawyer to join a specialist team of 3.
This is a broad and varied role covering all aspects of risk and compliance. You will be directly involved in the monitoring and continuing improvement of risk and compliance in the firm. You will provide advice and support on a range of legal and regulatory issues including AML and conflicts. Supporting the Head of Risk & Compliance with embedding a compliance culture within the firm.
This role will involve identifying, analysing and providing high quality advice on conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues, advising on all aspects of money laundering including client due diligence, assist in the development, drafting and implementation of the firm's policies and procedures, undertaking internal audits to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and quality standards, advising on all aspects of the SRA Handbook, analyse risks and trends and prepare feedback and reports, delivering risk and compliance training and supporting the handling of claims and complaints.
Successful candidates will have proven experience of advising on conflicts of interest, including information barriers and confidentiality. Strong technical knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations and financial sanctions regime. A comprehensive working knowledge of the regulatory framework and the SRA Handbook 2011, specifically the Code of Conduct. Ability to identify, analyse and evaluate the risk impact to the firm. Proven experience of taking a commercial and risk based approach to compliance.
It is anticipated that you will be a qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 3 years relevant experience in most of the above. Any experience of managing projects would also be an advantage.
