Trademark Attorney - Dubai

Due to the continued growth of my Magic Circle Law firms Commercial/Intellectual Property (IP) practice, they now have a newly created vacancy for a qualified Trade Mark Attorney to join their Dubai office.

Key responsibilities

The role will be varied and include:

• Management of local, regional and global trade mark portfolios for local and international rights holders;
• Advising on trade mark availability and registrability;
• Handling trade mark opposition work;
• Providing advice on designs;
• Managing deadlines;
• Direct client relationship responsibility;
• Supporting senior members of the team and, when required, supervising and managing more junior members of the team;

Candidate profile

They are looking for a candidate who is keen to be part of a diverse team and play a part in its development. You should have:

• a university degree (or equivalent);
• professional Trade Mark Attorney qualification;
• NQ - 2 years post qualified experience;
• training and experience gained from a firm with an established presence in the IP sector, or from an in-house IP position;
• good drafting skills with a keen attention to detail;
• confidence and initiative with a keenness to assume responsibility, work independently and take a pro-active and commercial approach to solving issues;
• experience in carrying out detailed and methodical legal research using available resources;
• strong interpersonal skills and interest in marketing and business development; and
• a clear and demonstrable commitment to developing a career in the Middle East.
