Financial Controller

Finatal are currently working with an exciting and high-growth private equity-backed sports technology business based in Greater Manchester who are seeking a bright, energetic and ambitious Financial controller to lead the finance function and support the continued growth. You will form a vital part of the Senior Management team with specific responsibility for the full mix of financial management, reporting and leading a number of planned acquisitions.

Your role will be to implement strict financial controls and robust reporting, including running commentary for investors and other stakeholders. Although you will be supported by a respected CFO, this role will involve a significant amount of autonomy and freedom to shape the finance function to achieve the lofty ambitions of the business through acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the significant growth of a highly acquisitive business
• Board level reporting, including monthly variances
• Implementing financial and operational control improvements
• Extensive due diligence
• Integration of multiple acquisitions, including standardisation of reporting
• Monthly management accounts and statutory accounts
• Strict management of cash flow, working capital and external banking relationships
• Provide financial leadership and advice, along with general business counsel to contribute to the achievement of company objectives
• Leadership of the finance function
• Forecasting and budgeting
• Developing financial models and systems to ensure they are compatible and suitable to sustain business growth

The Requirements:

• Candidates must hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification
• Experience within supporting acquisitions including integration
• Motivated to achieve strict deadlines and milestones
• Previous experience within a technology business is desirable
• Ability to adapt within a fast-paced and high-growth environment
• Previous experience within PE is desirable
