In-House Senior Legal Counsel, Insurance 6+ PQE

Established privately held insurance company with over 5,000 employers with a legal team based in Hampshire and London, looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join its insurance team.

You would be joining as a senior lawyer within a team of 7 lawyers dealing primarily with insurance regulatory matters. Please note the business has a separate commercial legal team. In this role, you would be expected to liaise with key stakeholders on a daily basis and confidently advise the business. Examples of the matters you would be dealing with include drafting insurance based agreements, TOBAS, contracts, dealing with product development, liaising with underwriters and the claims team. You would need to keep abreast of regulations, liaise with the FCA and advise the business on regulatory and governance matters.

The legal team is based in Hampshire so ideally the role would be based there however, they have offices in London so there may be flexibility with regards to location.

This role requires someone from an insurance background, ideally in-house, who is familiar with the regulations affecting this sector. This is a senior position so the ideal candidate should have 6 years post qualification experience as a minimum.
