Senior Finance Manager
Senior Finance Manager - Growing Construction Business in Surrey
Job Description
Key Responsibilities;
Review the work of the FM and Finance Assistant reporting under them.
Present monthly reports to the FD
Be part and take the lead in focus groups they are a member of. The group will report quarterly to the DFD and yearly to the Group Financial Director.
Make proposals and aid the development of the systems & processes used within their divisions
Assist the DFD in understanding the strategic and contractual risks of the business.
Deputise for the DFD when necessary with managing the various support departments within the division or where applicable manage the departments
Present monthly management accounts and all forecasts to DFD's for review each period, with commentary and explanation for all variances - post completion of all management accounts
Ensure all balance sheets are reconciled and highlight / resolve any issues, e.g. intercompany balances
Other responsibilities may include;
Preparation of monthly management accounts.
Preparation of daily & fortnightly cash forecasts
Preparation of quarterly forecasts & annual budgets
Management of month end process for closing ledgers
Manage payments on Bankline/cheques issued
Manage cash book and credit control
Produce monthly cost reports for QS department
Prepare VAT reconciliations as part of Group return
Year end accounts preparation & assist with tax computation
The Successful Applicant
Qualified accountant with experience in preparation of monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.
Experience of working in construction industry highly advantageous
Systems knowledge of Coins would be an advantage.
Good working Knowledge of Tax (VAT and CIS) would be also useful.
Needs to have good academic standard, whilst a degree is not essential a proven work track record of working in Finance and leading a small team would be a minimum.
