Legal Counsel 1+PQE Job in Gloucester with growing tech player

Your new role
This presents as a rare opportunity to join a rapidly growing UK business of an international group in a newly created role. This role will support a growing and dynamic tech business that recognises the importance of a strong legal function as key to the company's future success. You will have primary transactional drafting and negotiation responsibilities on deals and provide ongoing legal counsel and contract interpretation for the Business Units and other departments. These transactions range from standard contracts to complex, high value agreements. This will encompass all areas of Commercial, Corporate, Employment, Property and supporting M&A activity.

You will also be expected to participate in other company legal projects as directed, including the administration and resolution of legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries. You would also be responsible for the management of a paralegal. The position will be based in Gloucester or central London (near Holborn Station) with options of working occasionally in Bristol. This role is unusual in its high degree of flexibility and autonomy for in house counsel - it is a continually changing role in a growing tech player.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a 1+ PQE lawyer qualified in the United Kingdom (preferably with prior experience of supporting or working within the IT industry), with experience gained in a leading law firm or in-house legal team. You will have a passion for commercial law in the technology sector and will ideally be familiar with IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications or cloud computing services. You will have a strong background in providing commercially sensitive advice; prior experience in commercial / contract law is essential, with additional exposure to corporate law being advantageous. You will be highly motivated, pragmatic and a self-starter, with the ability to work independently and manage large volumes of work.

What you'll get in return
This is an exciting time to join the business as they go through a period of growth - our client are recognised as a leading company to work for and offer a vibrant, flexible/agile working culture. A competitive salary and benefits package are on offer, as well as parking on site.
