Are you a senior Company Commercial Solicitor who is at a crossroads with their career and looking for a firm where you can progress but also achieve a work/life balance?

We are working with a mid-sized Birmingham practice who are looking to propel their Corporate/Commercial offering with a senior hire who can pick up existing matters and clients but also come to the table with ideas as to how to push the department forward.

The team is small at the moment and deals with a mix of Commercial Contracts and Corporate matters. The team are happy to speak with pure Commercial Lawyers or pure Corporate Lawyers but equally solicitors who currently have a split across the two.

The firm is very well positioned in the Birmingham market and long established but are keen to grow their Commercial offering. The firm has an excellent culture and you would get a work/life balance. The team largely services the SME/smaller corporate market so the deals are excellent quality but do not need a lawyer to be working long hours and to consistently quick deadlines. The firm can accommodate remote working where appropriate.

The opportunity would be for a lawyer looking to do something different and who is perhaps questioning whether they can achieve a long career within private practice without compromising having a personal life outside of work.

There is an existing workload of matters and the team has a good pipeline. The firm would need somebody who is well connected and has the desire to help drive business development and push the department on.

Profile

It's likely that you will have at least 8 years' experience in either Corporate or Commercial matters. The firm would consider a hire at salaried partner level - they would need to see a good track record of generating work yourself and have a good network to build on. Equally the team would consider an Associate/Senior Associate who is looking to join a team with an existing workload but interested in partnership prospects in the mid to long term.
