My client is a major consultancy looking for a Commercial Litigator to join their legal team in London as Legal Counsel - Litigation.

My client is a major PLC operating globally servicing the business needs of some of the world's largest businesses, government departments and entities. They have a strong legal presence with over 30 lawyers in the UK representing different areas of their expertise including: IT, Commercial Contracts & Procurement, Litigation. This position is a Legal Counsel - Litigation and reports in the Head of Legal for Commercial Litigation.

Description

The Legal Counsel - Litigation sits within the Litigation team and assists with the pre-litigation management of the PLC. You will be involved in large scale contractual disputes relying on your high level interpreting skills, swift ability to identify issues and comfort with high value (£500k+) contract matters.

The contracts that are being disputed are large scale framework agreements, delay disputes, issues with tech delivery and sometimes some construction matters (very few).

Profile

The ideal candidate will be a UK qualified commercial litigator with a strong exposure to mediation.

You will have c5 years PQE from a top firm. In-house experienced would be an advantage but not a necessity - the experience of handling high value contractual disputes is more valuable that experience in a business.

The ideal candidate will be looking to move in-house and use their litigation skills for one client, you will want to be part of a small litigation team getting access to exciting high profile litigation project. High levels of organisation skills are required.
