Derivatives Lawyer - Leading European Investment Bank, 3-6m Contract

Our client, a leading European investment bank, is looking for an experienced lawyer to join their derivatives legal team initially on a 3-6 month contract.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of legal structuring, advisory, transaction execution, project and other legal support in respect of a broad range of fixed income and commodity derivatives and structured products.
  • Non-quantitative structuring responsibilities.
  • Coordinating execution of transactions by working with clients and structurers/traders, liaising with other relevant third parties.
  • Reviewing term sheets and drafting confirmations and other documentation for structured transactions and reviewing transaction documentation prepared by external legal advisers.
  • Post-trade transaction work.
  • Preparing and presenting appropriate contributions in relation to relevant business areas.
  • Monitoring ongoing legal, regulatory and market developments affecting relevant business areas.
  • Representing the bank in the European region on various local/regional industry bodies. 
  • Where appropriate, assisting, involving and communicating with other internal functions and other teams within the legal department
  • Addressing requests from counterparties to amend transaction documentation as a result of preparations for Brexit

Skills and Qualifications

  • 4+ PQE from a law firm or investment bank
  • Primary experience in derivatives and/or structured products
