Responsibilities include:
- Support and assist with the business planning activities across the group, with a key focus on the financial model assumptions and scenario analysis
- Provide financial model analysis to various internal and external stakeholders to add value and support decision making in the business
- Play an important role in driving process improvement across the business planning function
- Stakeholder include CFO, Head of Mergers & Acquisitions and Group Financial Controller as well as external stakeholders including shareholders, advisors and lenders.
- Review and challenge new internal investment proposals ensuring accuracy of financial projections in accordance with the group's Investment Appraisal and Approval Policy
- Maintain written documentation of the model and provide training to the wider group in the use of the group model as necessary
- Contribute to the design and testing of new forecasting and planning processes, including the effective use of a new ERP system
The successful candidate will have the following experience and background:
- ACA (or equivalent) qualified for a reputable practice/organisation, although candidates who are qualified by experience will be considered
- Previous experience and evidence of developing and maintaining complex financial models within a large organisation
- Practical application of corporate finance theory in valuation models for strategic decision making
- MS Excel development skills
- Reasons logically with verbal information and applies analytical and logical reasoning to synthesize and evaluate information and arrive at sound conclusions
- High standards of accuracy and precision, with a strong attention to detail
- Self-management to meet deadlines
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing
