Leading international law firm are looking to hire an additional Planning Associate to join their high-ranking Planning & Environment and Energy & Infrastructure team based in their offices in Glasgow.
Role Profile:
The firm has the largest planning and environmental team in the UK and ha been ranked as the number one Planning team in the UK for the last 5 years- this is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-profile team and also work with leading experts in their field.
Clients include the developers, funders and investors involved in major energy, infrastructure and development projects. The work on offer involves the full range of planning and environmental advice from project inception, through the formulation and review of consent applications, to dealing with the regulatory authorities and planning appeals and inquiries. The role would focus on planning and consenting and would encompass work across the UK in relation to Development Consent Orders, Compulsory Purchase Orders, planning permissions and other development consents and permits obtained under legislation such as the Electricity Act, the Transport & Works Act and ports and harbours legislation.
Candidate Required
- The successful candidate will ideally have gained experience working in a large commercial law firm and will understand the levels of service delivery required- you will also have a strong background/ experience in planning and environmental law.
- You will have a strong academic background and an outgoing personality.
- You should be prepared to travel, both within the UK and internationally, for the purposes of visiting clients and other UK offices.
- The role requires a lawyer who is technically excellent, but, equally important, commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development.
