A broad and varied Management Accountant role for a listed environmental Services organisation based within central London.

Client Details

A listed leader in environmental services, the client provides a comprehensive range of waste, water and energy management services designed to build the circular economy and preserve scarce raw materials.

Description

The Management Accountant will play a key role in the day to day management of the finance function including:

  • Responsibility for the financial reporting and quality control of the General Ledger, primarily including all balance sheet items but excluding the sales and purchase ledger

  • Key involvement in the monthly management accounts process from a profit and loss, cashflow and balance sheet perspective

  • Management reporting (daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc basis)

  • Responsibility for decision support to various business areas including but not limited to the Yorkshire distribution centre, Marketing and IT;

  • Statutory reporting and regulatory compliance, including taxation

  • Key involvement in the Financial planning (budget and forecast) process including liaising with key stakeholders across the business

  • Key involvement in ensuring that stock holding is maximised and key stock lines are monitored

  • Budgetary control (P&L and working capital management) and efficiency generating initiatives

  • Involvement in key strategic business projects

  • Development of the finance function's processes and internal controls

  • Ability to provide cover for the Finance Manager

  • Review of material transactions and risk management (credit, FX, financing, etc.)

  • Analytical support for the sales, purchasing and logistics departments

Profile

The successful candidate will be a hands-on finance professional with the following attributes:

  • Strong track record in a similar role

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA with a minimum of 2 years PQE

  • Ability to operate efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent numerical and communication skills

  • Excellent Excel skills including v-look ups and pivot tables

  • High achiever (strong intellect, superior work-ethic and drive to succeed)
