Regulatory Counsel role with leading investment bank in Dublin

A leading investment bank is currently seeking to hire a Legal Counsel to join their Global Legal department based in Dublin.

As a member of the Ireland Legal team, the main purpose of the role is to provide legal support and legal risk management to Barclays Bank Ireland focusing on our Markets business and especially on regulatory change affecting the Markets business. The role will have regular exposure to external law firms, as well as colleagues in other infrastructure teams such as compliance, strategy and regulatory relations. The role will require flexibility in approach and very strong communication skills.

The successful candidate for this position must be a qualified lawyer with solid experience in banking and financial law and regulatory matters gained in either private practice or in-house as well as meeting the following criteria:

• Excellent knowledge of the MiFID directive and financial markets infrastructure environment
• Identifies legal and commercial risks within the framework of the firm's governance and risk policies
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience of Risk Management.
