fdu's Search Practice is recruiting a Finance Director for a highly profitable Algorithmic Trading business to be based at their Head Office in Malta.

• Our Client invests (trades) in diverse marketplaces and is growing rapidly.
• They lead their field by utilising cutting-edge data analytics and highly innovative trading techniques.
• They are seeking a bright, ambitious, highly analytic Senior Finance Professional, with the capability to progress into the CFO position within a short time frame.

What are the Client's requirements? 

The Client needs…

• Implementation of an end-to-end reporting suite to collate large amounts of statistical data and automate insightful management / Investor / Shareholder reporting.
• A leader. An educator. Someone who can nurture the core Finance team and a team of Data Analysts to create a culture of development.
• Efficient systems in place. You will be able to maintain and improve the company's strong financial performance through tight financial control and strong reporting skills.
• A steward of the business; you will have responsibility for all financial management.
• A Candidate with an analytical approach. Someone with an ‘eagle eye' to spot key financial and business trends, and from this the produce meaningful and insightful recommendations to continually improve business performance.
• A Business Partner. You must be able to build strong relationships with the Executive Team, Investors and Shareholders.

What do I need to be successful?

You will be…

• A qualified accountant with a strong academic profile. Intelligence and at least 10 years' experience gained in a fast-paced International business is essential.
• Experienced in a relevant (data heavy) sector i.e. Hedge Fund, Insurance, Algorithmic Trading, Gaming etc.
• Strong systems skills, implementation / enhancements.
• Highly analytical, used to working with big data / data analytics.
• Technically strong in all aspects of financial control and reporting.
• A strong leader. Previous experience of managing Data Analysts would be of high value.
• Dedicated to continual learning.
• A strong communicator. Fluency in English. Be persuasive and sensitive in language choices.
• Delivery focused, innovative, self-motivated, collaborative, and culturally aware.
