Legal Counsel

A FTSE 250 Warwick business are looking for a talented and experienced Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal function for a full-time, permanent role paying up to £70,000 per year.

Responsibilities of your new role

Your key duties in this In House Counsel role will include:

• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and reporting on a wide range of commercial contracts in line with governance requirements (e.g. customer and supplier framework agreements, IT, indirect procurement);
• Providing strategic and legal support to material disputes, litigation and/or regulatory issues;
• Providing timely support and reporting to identify and mitigate contractual risk and ensure core regulatory compliance; and
• Providing training relating to legal matters for colleagues

Required skills, experience and qualifications

The firm is keen to hear from Legal Counsel applicants who demonstrate:

• Excellent communication and influencing skills;
• Qualified solicitor with 5-7 years of PQE;
• First class technical knowledge, ability to balance legal and commercial requirements;
• Track record of providing practical legal advice in relation to commercial contracts;
• Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly identify and present key issues concisely; and
• Experience of delivering at pace, alone and as part of a team, and managing a mix of stakeholders.

Salary and benefits

The successful Legal Counsel will be offered £50,000 - £70,000 per annum plus a competitive benefits package.
