Associate Director opportunity within an established, reputable Chartered Accountancy & Advisory Practice offering ownership of a client portfolio and long term career progression to Director.

THE COMPANY

A full solution Chartered Accountancy & Advisory Practice with a strong regional presence. The practice advises SME, Entrepreneur-led and Mid-Market Corporate businesses across the region ranging up to c.£100m t/o in size. Client services include Audit, Accounts, Tax Planning, Business Advisory, Outsourced Financial Management and M&A / Corporate Finance.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The firm is now looking to appoint an ambitious qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) into an Associate Director position as part of its succession plan. The opportunity will offer responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients / fees, managing and building a team and progressing ultimately to Director.

Joining as an Associate Director you will be responsible for managing a large portfolio of clients and leading a team consisting of Qualified and Part-Qualified / Junior Accounts staff.

The focus of the teams work is Audit, Preparation of Accounts / Tax Returns, Cloud Accounting solutions, Management Accounts and Outsourced Financial Management. You will also personally handle more complex work for clients and ad hoc projects including finance raising, business planning / forecasting exercises and due diligence assignments.

As an Associate Director within the firm you will meet with new referrals and prospective clients and have the chance to grow your client portfolio as you progress to Director. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a client portfolio consisting of SME, Entrepreneurial and large Corporate businesses
  • Overseeing a team responsible for delivering Audit, Accounts and Business Advisory services to Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies typically c.£250k t/o - £30m t/o
  • Meeting referrals and prospective clients with the aim of signing them up as new clients
  • Supporting the Directors with the management of the office

THE PERSON

You will be an Accountancy professional able to demonstrate the following:

  • ACA / ACCA Fully Qualified
  • Background within small or medium sized Accountancy Practice (min.7-10 years)
  • A strong desire to progress your career to Partner level within an established and reputable Accountancy Practice
