Financial Controller - Reporting, EMEA Shared Services.

Adjacency are currently recruiting a Financial Controller - Reporting, to lead a multi country team within our client's EMEA Shared Service Centre in Gloucestershire.  They are a privately owned organisation with a rich heritage spanning over 100 years.  The role comes with a competitive salary dependent upon experience, benefits package, car allowance and guaranteed bonus upon completion of first year.

Leading a high performing team you will be responsible for the efficient and effective running of an EMEA financial reporting function including legal entities across multiple jurisdictions and group consolidations.  This includes all aspects of reporting to the US parent company as well as statutory reporting and managing a team of circa 4 part and fully qualified professional accountants.

Key elements of the role include:

  • Monthly US GAAP reporting, local statutory reporting, taxation; including VAT & government returns across multiple European jurisdictions including Italy, UK, Germany and Spain.
  • Primary contact with the relevant external auditors for business entities as well as managing the outsourced tax services and statutory accounts consultants, ensuring their quality of delivery.
  • Provide specialised financial accounting and reporting technical support to the Business Finance management.
  • Drive profitability by delivering effective and efficient standardised processes, procedures and services and ensure internal controls are maintained.
  • Work with finance teams in the business and across reporting to streamline and standardise the month-end processes.  Seek to constantly improve and implement best practice within the team; search and identify new technologies and external benchmarks.
  • Manage a team of reporting analysts/accountants; providing clear objectives, supporting additional training needs, balancing workload, offering ongoing support and formal performance management
  • Partner with business entity leaders with integrity and candour and communicate accurately.

Qualification/Skill/Experience:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant, ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent
  • Experience in US GAAP and Local (Italian or other EU) Statutory reporting and Taxation, (including Corporate & Indirect Taxes, VAT & government returns).
  • Experience of working with SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.  Ability and knowledge to act as a Business Partner and Accounting and Financial Consultant to the business.
  • European languages would be advantageous.
