Chief Financial Officer

Proptech business

North West

£Six figure base + bonus + benefits + equity linked incentivisation

Our client is an established business and a leader in its field, delivering a wide range of technology driven solutions within the property marketplace. Its entrepreneurial culture, strong reputation and ability to successfully leverage relationships has led to significant new client wins in recent years, which in turn has driven rapid growth; and consequently it now provides the most comprehensive range of services as compared to its peers, to the some of the largest and best known financial services brands in the UK.

It is now at a pivotal moment in its development, needing to both consolidate its service delivery capability due to recent fast growth and evolve its business model within the context of a rapidly changing external environment and potentially disruptive competitor base. Our client's strategic response to this is well-underway and building upon its previous disruptive products, it aims to leverage technology and position itself in the vanguard of the digital revolution which is taking place within its marketplace.

This is where you come in, as we now seek a new Chief Financial Officer to join our Board and contribute towards the future direction and strategy of the business and deliver a first class and fully compliant financial management service.Operating as a true business partner, the Chief Financial Officer will relish the opportunity to work pro-actively across the organisation, seeking out opportunities to add value and provide financial input into all commercial decision making; with an initial important focus upon building commercially effective pricing models for our products and services, and playing a lead role in the pricing and negotiation of new contracts. In this broad role, the Chief Financial Officer will also be responsible for other functional areas such as HR and risk/compliance.

To be considered for this position, it is essential that you have worked at No.1 or No.2 level within a finance function of a business that operates within the services sector - ideally but not limited to the financial, legal or technology sectors and/or a business that utilises technology to deliver high volume transactional services.  Clearly you must have gained exposure at both the strategic and operational level and possess very broad ranging financial management experience. Crucially, as Chief Financial Officer, you must have operated as a true business partner to your organisation and made a significant contribution to its commercial success, which will include developing pricing models for products and services and providing input to the pricing of specific contracts. Exposure to activity-based costing approaches within the context of a services business, is desirable.

Above all though, it is your personal approach that is key in this Chief Financial Officer role, and aside from your proven ability to lead a motivated and high performing finance team, you must also possess a natural curiosity and desire to really ‘get under the hood' of the commercial engine of a business and pro-actively seek to make a difference through your enthusiastic and energetic engagement with all of the key functional areas, the Board and shareholders. In part, this is about your ability to make a sound contribution at the strategic level, including providing insightful analysis that facilitates good business decision making. It it is also very much around your ability to then take a ‘hands-on' approach to ensuring delivery; and your strong planning and organisation skills must be underpinned by an innate drive and resilience to see things through.

The closing date for this Chief Financial Officer role is Friday 4th January 2019, but we would greatly appreciate it if you could send us your application sooner than this.
