Global Logistics Finance Director | Hampshire based with Global travel
Butler Rose is proud to be exclusively partnering an international manufacturing and distribution business in their search for a Global Logistics Finance Director. Based in Hampshire this role will require global travel and management of a large, remote team via direct reports. Providing crucial strategic financial support to a complex logistics business, the post-holder will be intrinsic to taking it to the next level of innovation.
Acting as a Finance Business Partner to the Global Logistics and Operations Director and reporting to the Global Finance Director for Operations, this is a new strategic role due to growth and a vitally important recruit for one of the South's leading businesses.
Key responsibilities are broad but include:
- Provide support and advice to other senior management team members on existing and future logistics practices and key strategic processes.
- Lead and co-ordinate the planning cycle for the global logistics organisation.
- Ensure proactive identification and escalation of potential issues to financial and logistics management teams, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Support the worldwide logistics initiatives in the development of the long term Strategic Plan including the development of cost accounting.
- Develop global standardised reports and KPIs for the reviews of freight and secondary handling.
- Support the organisation to move to the next steps for the global costs to serve model.
- Manage financial cycles and initiatives world-wide through the support of the commercial finance team in each region.
- Support development of inventory and packaging control and accounting, identifying profit improvement opportunities.
- Drive cost saving initiatives and aid management in the introduction of new inventory management and control techniques.
- Oversee capital investments throughout the global logistics function and ensure robust business cases for every major planned investment.
- Develop and implement reporting process improvements.
Key requirements
Our client is seeking a high calibre individual from a senior leadership role within a complex logistics business, who is able to bring knowledge and innovative ideas to the role.
We are looking for a driver of change who can standardise processes within the logistics division across our client's global locations and focus upon continuous improvement. Experience of matrix management within a large international business is preferable and a customer centric approach is essential as you will be helping to drive customer service excellence to their partners.
You will be degree educated and an experienced finance leader from a high volume, complex logistics background who has an appetite for driving change, development and success.
