About Our Client Senior Accountant 

Honda has established operations in six global regions, Japan, North America, South America, Asia, China and Europe. Each region has its own sales, production and R&D functions known in Honda as SED- Sales, Engineering and Development.

To date Honda R&D Europe UK (HRE UK) based in Swindon, Wiltshire has been supporting the Honda policy of localisation by developing, bench marking and testing products as close as possible to the marketplace. In the UK they are also involved in building up strong relationships with the international suppliers to provide the necessary parts and vehicle systems for Honda cars manufactured in Europe at the Swindon and Turkey sites.

In 2011 HRE-UK also took on the drive for new derivatives and part development for models with in the European market, making HRE-UK a truly innovative and collaborative place to be part of.

In January 2014, work began at our site in Milton Keynes which is the European base for Honda's Formula 1 racing activities. This is a very separate operation but part of HRE-UK, and from 2018/19 season, will be supplying power units for Red Bull as well as Toro Rosso.

Job Description Senior Accountant 

The Finance Department is an integral part of Honda R&D Europe (UK) Ltd located in Swindon with an office in Milton Keynes. The Finance team have responsibility for managing all the accounting activities of the company including key elements of Compliance and Business Partnering.

This Senior Accountant will report directly to the Finance Department Manager and cover many Finance tasks within the organisation ranging from Month End Reporting, Statutory Accounts, Budgeting and Treasury Management.

Main Responsibilities: Senior Accountant 

• Producing monthly reports and accounts to meet group timescales.
• Preparation of Statutory Accounts and liaising with auditors.
• Reviewing, monitoring, posting and auditing Russian Branch Accounts.
• Creating forecasts, budgets, and long term financial plans.
• Treasury Management including weekly and long term cash forecasting.
• Support the Finance Departmental Manager by enhancing the internal control framework policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process and reporting improvements.
• Manage finance team members and assist in their continuous development.
• Leading and participating in ad-hoc business projects.
• Providing Finance cover when required for the Senior Accountant located in Milton Keynes.

The Successful Applicant Senior Accountant 

Qualifications, skills and experience required/desirable: Senior Accountant 

• Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
• High level of analytical ability along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Statutory Accounts experience.
• Extensive Budgeting and Forecasting knowledge.
• Able to contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
• Energetic and engaging with a positive "can do attitude"
• Flexible and agile in taking on new challenges.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues throughout the business.
• IT skills to include advanced excel and PowerPoint knowledge.
