The College of Optical Sciences and the Cancer Center at the University of Arizona are proud to announce a faculty search for the inaugural Harrison H. and Catherine C. Barrett Endowed Chair in Optical Sciences for Cancer Imaging. The chairholder should have a history of innovative contributions to the principles of image science and task-based assessment of image quality, as well as a commitment to applying these principles to important problems in clinical oncology or cancer research. The chairholder should continue to foster the long-standing interactions between the College of Optical Sciences and the Arizona Cancer Center in the realm of cancer imaging. The candidate is expected to support and advance Inclusive Excellence, the UA diversity and inclusiveness strategic initiative designed to create an inclusive environment for all faculty, staff, and students. Duties & Responsibilities: The chairholder is expected to run a vigorous and world-renowned research program in cancer imaging and to apply the principles and rigorous framework that Dr. Harrison H. Barrett helped initiate in the field. The chairholder will also participate in teaching at the College of Optical Sciences as well as committee work in both the College of Optical Sciences and the Arizona Cancer Center. While this chair position is seen as a collaboration between the Arizona Cancer Center and the College of Optical Sciences, joint appointments with other Departments are also possible.
