Investment Director

A global, privately owned multi-billion turnover business with operations across multiple sectors is looking to recruit a talented Investment Director to work closely with the Executive board and support a number of divisional Managing Directors.

Working alongside the Strategy and Group Finance teams, the Investment Director will manage and develop an Investment Manager and be responsible for:

• Devising and delivering the annual business planning process. 
• Working closely with subsidiary companies to understand their business plans, challenging where required. 
• Articulating to the Board the investment opportunity represented by individual plans, including assessment of key opportunities and threats.
• Making buy / hold / sell recommendations.
• Working with the Strategy team and CEO to explore new areas for investment.
• Supporting in-depth sector and trend analysis to identify new business ventures and growth opportunities.
• Taking a leading role in M&A activity including fundraising.

The ideal person will have relevant Strategy experience, ideally forged within Corporate Finance and/or Restructuring department within a large corporate or professional services firm. Those from a Consultancy background (including non-core finance roles) will also be eligible.

Previous exposure to a Financial Services environment would also be beneficial.
