Our client is a highly regarded full-service firm headquartered in the Cayman Islands. With fewer conflicts than many of their competitors, the dispute resolution group has been free to act on some of the largest and most interesting disputes to go through the Caribbean courts in recent years.
The team is now looking for an additional barrister to join them in order to help keep up with an increasing number of instructions. The successful candidate can expect to work on complex commercial, insolvency, and trust-related disputes as a Cayman Islands attorney. As well as appearing in court regularly, they will also perform a solicitor-type role due to the island's fused legal profession.
As a result of Cayman's 0% tax rate and our client's strong compensation model, net earnings will be competitive with the Junior Bar.
In order to be considered for this position, you will:
- Be a member of the England & Wales Bar with approximately 3-6 years' experience as a tenant or employed barrister;
- Have a practice focused on one or more of the following areas: corporate disputes, contentious insolvency, banking litigation, trust disputes; and
- Have a strong academic background
