The Opportunity:

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a driven, experienced and commercially focussed Finance Director to join an entrepreneurial, fast growing retailer to develop this exciting new venture into a market leader within the industry.

Finance Director Role / Purpose:

• The Group is looking for someone who will bring a demonstrable track record of visible leadership and high-quality delivery in all aspects of financial and commercial accounting management within a retail environment.
• He/she will oversee all aspects of the financial reporting and planning activity with a view to enhancing value and maximising efficiencies wherever possible.
• Will be responsible for developing the finance function to its fullest capability, introducing effective low-cost high impact systems and processes to ensure the finance function (and Team) is regarded as best in class.
• This Finance Director role requires an individual with the leadership skills and behaviours to motivate colleagues and wider Teams, to encourage innovative thinking and the ability to manage and effectively deliver complex programmes of change and integration whilst at all times complying with statutory regulation.

Main Responsibilities of the Finance Director will Include:

• Define and implement the financial strategy across the retail group.
• Analysing and reporting on the Company's financial position.
• Forecasting future financial performance - Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist the leadership team.
• Interpret complex financial information and provide the business with retail and commercial analysis, insights and reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Ensuring expenditure is in line with agreed budgets and that an appropriate financial policy framework is in place.
• Making recommendations for cost / productivity improvements.
• Update and implement financial policies and procedures - maintain a policy manual for the finance group function.
• As a member of management team, contribute to the development and delivery of the broader business and group agenda and participate in key decision making processes impacting all aspects of the business, its strategic plans and people.

Experience Required of the Finance Director:

• Professional qualification in Finance (Qualified Accountant CIMA or ACCA).
• At least 5 years' commercial experience in a Financial Director / similar position, gained within a retail/consumer environment.
• Demonstrable track record in financial analysis, modelling and forecasting and the ability to produce high quality reports.
• An appetite for creating, establishing and leading a finance function through a significant process of change and growth.
• Experience in strategy development and planning with the ability to demonstrate strategic thinking against a broad range of organisational activities.
• A collaborative, team based working style, a strong advocate of quality as a driver for delivering a lower cost base, with the conceptual and practical ability to reconcile competing pressures.
• UK and European territory experience, specifically Germany would be a plus.

Package:

• Salary: £65k - £70k pa + package with 20% bonus and share options. The salary will grow in line with EBITDA over time.
