Our client is a market leading blue-chip customer-centric business that has seen substantial growth across all of its global operations. They now seek a proven Director of Financial Reporting to help deliver a step change of process excellence across its regional business.

Reporting to the regional CFO, leading a team of 12 (including 3 direct reports), whilst serving as an integral member of the senior management team, the role holder will be responsible for the overall development of the finance reporting strategy and contribute to the efficient, accurate, timely and high quality submission of internal and external reporting outputs, including statutory, regulatory and US reporting.

In addition to the routine components, the incumbent will be charged with developing and implementing more sophisticated policies and procedures both in the operational finance and reporting realms. Other role responsibilities include:

  • Leading the group reporting team and ensuring accurate financial reporting outputs are maintained.
  • Managing the relationship with the regional CFO and international finance function and ensuring they remain appraised of developments and issues relating to the regional business.
  • Co-ordination of the statutory audit process, working with key stakeholders within the wider finance function, to deliver on-time and in a cost efficient manner.
  • On time submission of consolidated, US GAAP financial reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Delivery of quarterly analytical templates to the international finance team.
  • UK to US reporting reconciliations maintained on a monthly basis.
  • Perform technical accounting considerations for new business opportunities and prepare accounting papers for executive sign-off and external audit, on both a UK and US accounting standards basis.
  • Responsibility for presenting the financial statements at audit, risk and compliance committee and responding to queries and updating on issues.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified 'Big 4' trained chartered accountant with significant experience operating within the financial services industry. They will have proven experience leading a finance transformation agenda on an international scale whilst being an expert in all aspects of financial management and accounting including financial controls, reporting and effective close processes, managing global close cycles, an ability to influence cross-functional teams to act and drive change management.
