Financial Controller, Retail, up to £70,000 plus benefits

A leading international retailer is currently looking to appoint a Financial Controller. Based in the West End the role will assume global leadership of management accounting, accounts payable, stock control, compliance and internal audit. The business is experiencing significant growth, and the role will play a key role is this maturing business.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Leadership and development of a growing financial control team
• Preparation of monthly Management Accounts across 4 legal entities
• Senior stakeholder liaison across retail, head office, marketing and warehouse
• Preparing board report commentary
• Leadership of Purchase Ledger
• Statutory Accounts and associated Tax reporting
• Managing the interim and year end audit and compliance processes
• Ongoing commercial support to the business during budgeting and re-forecasting cycles
• Leadership of process improvements to improve efficiencies across the business
• Support the Head of Finance on systems upgrades & initiatives

Due to the pace the business is growing at we are looking for a relatively specific skills set and person type. You will be degree educated and a qualified accountant. You must have Retail or FMCG experience, ideally from within a big business. Technically management accounts experience is essential along with evidence of leading, and driving change to improve ways of working.
