Partner Financial are working with a listed Media Company who employs over 30,000 employees globally and has an established client portfolio which it supports with communications strategy. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the company is looking for a Financial Accounting Manager to drive the technical accounting agenda across the business. This opportunity offers you the chance to work in a diverse, dynamic and highly acquisitive company. Due to the nature of change and growth in recent years, the finance function has an important remit within the organisation.
Key Accountabilities
- Building and ensuring a best in class finance function.
- Providing the business with clear technical accounting advice and guidance to support decision making.
- Developing technical accounting knowledge across all Finance teams.
- Ensuring new business activities are promptly and accurately assessed for compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
- Providing accounting support on complex business transactions.
- Managing the external audit of complex accounting areas.
- Identifying accounting risks to be mitigated and opportunities to be pursued.
- Driving the implementation of new technical accounting standards including IFRS 16, IFRS 15 and IFRS 9.
- Partnering with the tax team to ensure that all tax implications are fully considered.
- Providing support and training on emerging accounting standards.
- Providing ad-hoc analysis as required to senior stakeholders and across the functions.
Personal Specification
- Qualified ACA ideally from a top 10 firm.
- Strong Influencing and relationship building skills within a global environment.
- Ability to drive change across the organisation.
- Good attention to detail and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
