President/CEO The Board of Trustees of Kankakee Community College invites
applications and nominations for the position of President.
KCC is located on a scenic 177-acre campus along the Kankakee
River. The Kankakee River Valley is just 45 miles south of
Chicago off Interstate 57. The college enjoys a tradition of
strong community support and stability in leadership, having
only six presidents during its 52-year history.
KCC provides high quality transfer and career programs, as well
as adult education and literacy programs at multiple sites
throughout its 1,600-square-mile district. The college enrolls more
than 6,600 students annually and serves more than 4,000
additional residents through corporate and continuing
education programs.
The next president of KCC will have outstanding leadership
skills with an established reputation of integrity, honesty,
and trust; dedication to excellence and technological innovation in
education; and broad vision for academic leadership. The
successful candidate will be committed to meeting the full range of
educational needs of the student body and to expanding
productive partnerships with all segments of education,
the community, businesses, legislators, and governmental
agencies. Other qualifications include a background of
demonstrated support for local economic development
and workforce training; a desire to continue and expand
previously successful fundraising and marketing initiatives;
and experience implementing innovative support programs to improve
student recruitment and student success. An earned doctorate
and senior executive experience are required with community
college experience preferred. Experience with underserved
at-risk population segments is preferred.
Qualified candidates are encouraged to complete and
electronically submit all of the application materials as
found on our website, president.kcc.edu, by November 12.
Unofficial transcripts will be required at the time of
interview.
Application materials will be accepted until the
position is filled.
The college wishes to
identify a new President by February 2019, with a July 1, 2019
start date
KCC is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. The
college encourages applications from candidates who reflect
the increasing diversity of KCC's student body and community, and
who will enhance and promote engagement with other cultures. Category: Education , Keywords: Chancellor
