A successful multi-million UK Plc is recruiting for a Financial Controller to lead the finance team at one of their Leeds based factories.


As Financial Controller you will be responsible for independently reviewing a number of existing controls and processes to ensure that a 'best-practice' approach is uniformly followed within the division and other areas of the wider business. You will work closely with the Divisional FD, MD and leadership team to provide high-level assistance and professional guidance for a number of ongoing, business-critical projects.

This is a superb opportunity that could lead to a permanent role within the business , following their restructure.

Location:

You will be based in predominantly in Leeds working closely with the FD.

Duration:

We are looking for someone to start asap until the end of Feb, with the possibility of another month. This exact role won't become permanent but there could be other opportunities, so you will be in prime position for potential consideration.

Key accountabilities will include but not be limited to;

  • Business partner to the Site General Manager and the Senior Leadership Team
  • Preparation and co-ordination of all financial reporting for the Leeds PDM manufacturing site, including monthly management accounts to include insightful P&L and balance sheet analysis
  • Report weekly and monthly P&L forecast & KPI's into the Divisional FD and FC, as well as to Group Finance including commentary to explain variances against budget/forecast and prior week
  • Maintain Integrity and accuracy of financial ledgers
  • Preparation of annual budgets and subsequent monthly re-forecasting
  • Main contact point for External and Internal audit
  • Review and sign off of VAT returns, Intra Stat declarations and EC Sales Listings
  • Manage and develop accounting team of two, and oversee and manage relationship with Finance Shared Service Centre
  • Manage and forecast working capital at a local level
  • Introduce and ensure adherence with Group internal controls
  • Liaising with Group finance to ensure alignment with group objectives and reporting
  • Manage and track Capex spend and benefits
  • Develop key business initiatives to drive efficiencies and profits at the site

Site Management:

  • Providing key day to day finance support to all on site senior management
  • Provide Monthly/Quarterly finance review with operations team
  • Develop and manage business unit budget
  • Preparation and analysis of monthly sales and profitability reporting for the business unit
  • Provide meaningful and insightful MI to assist the business with relevant decision making to drive business performance
  • Highlight key trends, opportunities and possible threats to the business and suggest and implement new procedures
  • Identify, write and present investment cases for the business unit and division


Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be someone experienced within the manufacturing industry and have strong commercial experience
