Following recent organisational and leadership changes, the business are now seeking a technically strong, Top-tier Trained, qualified accountant to lead on all group reporting and policy activities for the business. A key leadership role, this person will manage a high-calibre team and work cross functionally through a variety of day-to-day duties alongside key projects - systems, processes, M&A etc.

Key Responsibilities for the role:

  • Managing and developing the Group Reporting team and ensuring they have clear deliverables, feedback and incentives;
  • Leading the preparation and consolidation of group results, ensuring adherence to IFRS, for internal and external stakeholder presentations;
  • Acting as a key technical accounting and policy advisor to the Group Financial Controller, Regional Finance teams and producing relevant accounting papers;
  • Successfully advising and managing several projects including M&A accounting issues and structuring, business combinations and various other complexities in the corporate transactions space;
  • Managing the relationship with the external auditors and obtaining relevant advice around judgment-based accounting principles;
  • Continual review and improvement of group accounting policies and supporting analysis of impacts where required, especially with incoming new standards (IFRS 16);
  • Manage the preparation of the Groups Consolidated Financial statements (half and full year) adding to the Annual report where required;
  • Coordinating the completion of statutory accounts for all individuals group entities ensuring timely completion and accuracy.

The Ideal candidate for this role will be an energetic and outgoing ACA/CA chartered accountant from a Big 4 practice. This individual will have gained significant experience in delivering technically challenging (IFRS) Audits at Manager level or above, with subsequent industry experience in Group Financial Reporting and Consolidations in a large (ideally listed) business.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to lead and motivate a team are key to this role being a success, with the new appointee being able to successfully build relationships with team members and C-level executives and instil a collaborative and team focused working culture.
