A leading Media business require an interim Director of Finance for a 12 month interim role to manage all aspects of finance, including budgeting & forecasting, statutory and group reporting and tax matters.

Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Responsible for checking and approving an accurate production of monthly management accounts, including P&L, variance analysis, cashflow, balance sheet and submissions
  • Manage Finance Manager and two supporting staff to ensure that they are clear on their delivery of services requirements to the company. Maintain their motivation and engagement.
  • Supporting the Managing Director and SVP with ad hoc analysis and input for business initiatives
  • Overseeing the quarterly re-forecasts and annual budget processes
  • Responding to ad hoc requests from the Group's regional and head offices
  • Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in respect of the entities
  • Affirm team follows the compliance framework according to group and division requirements
  • Responsible for submissions of Internal compliance including SOX files, reconciliations and month end sign offs
  • Making a proactive contribution to progressively improve financial reporting speed and quality
  • Promoting a robust control environment
  • Complying with statutory and legal requirements: external audit, tax, VAT and other regulatory filings for 2 legal entities
  • Reviewing AR and AP operations regularly to ensure efficient cash management

Person Profile:

  • Qualified Accountant with minimum 7 years PQE
  • US listed business experience
  • SOX exposure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external customers across multiple countries
  • Strong organizational skills, with experience of managing multiple deadlines
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
  • Excellent team player, who consistently displays a positive attitude
  • Proactive, with quick understanding of the business model
  • Proven track record and fast learner
  • Commercially astute and highly numerate
  • Financial reporting experience in a multi-site, multi-currency business
  • IT literate with strong Excel skills and accounting systems knowledge
  • Use of Hyperion reporting systems desirable
