This is a Legal Counsel position for a mid-level lawyer with expertise in IT / infrastructure and/or energy projects based in London UK.
Client Details
Our Client is a national organisation backed with both public and private finance which will be facilitating the roll out of smart metering for energy across the UK over the next 5 years and supporting that function thereafter.
Description
The successful candidate will be part of a team providing legal support across all of the organisation's smart metering programmes, principally by acting as a commercially astute and trusted legal advisor to the commercial and procurement teams.
This will involve managing legal risks arising from contractual arrangements with new and existing suppliers, assessing regulatory risks under the organisation's smart meter licence and the industry wide Smart Energy Code, as well as providing general corporate and procurement advice.
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of the UK's smart metering initiative, as it rapidly scales to cover all of the UK.
Profile
The successful candidate is likely to be a UK qualified lawyer, with
Experience of working on multi-party delivery programmes would be also be highly valued.
Experience in the gas and electricity sectors in the UK, particularly relating to smart metering, would also be useful but it not a pre-requisite for this role.
