Legal Director - Franchising & Licensing

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Director (Franchising & Licensing) to join a well-established legal team in London (Chiswick business park), on a 12 month fixed-term contract. This leading retail brand has more than 22,000 retail locations worldwide.

Reporting to the General Counsel, this is a highly commercial and technical role where you will provide legal advice on a broad range of commercial issues. You will lead on EMEA franchising/licensing deals and have 3 direct reports.

You must have a strong private practice background (ie. Solid contract/legal skills and knowledge, ability to train and manage more junior members of team and good negotiating skills). The role requires someone who has previous experience in franchise/licensing, business sales/acquisitions (i sale of the real estate asset, TUPE). As well as this, in-house experience either in the retail, hospitality, leisure or FMCG sectors is absolutely essential.

You will need to be personable, a team player, engaging and confident to deal various key stakeholders across the business as well as liaising with the senior leadership team.

The anticipated start date is mid-November and will cover a 12 month maternity period.
