Be part of the biggest property programme in the country.

This is an exciting time to join HMRC Estates: we're moving from 170 offices in 2015 to 13 regional centres, five specialist sites and seven transitional sites by 2021.

Our 600+ strong team supplies, manages and maintains our spaces and places, ensuring they're safe, secure and offer the best environment for our people to deliver HMRC's mission, and provide value for money for the taxpayer.

We want to become the best estates department in Government, and we're looking for exceptional people to help us deliver this.

If you're a change management specialist who loves to focus on ensuring the overall delivery of projects, we think this is a role you'll really enjoy.
As our Assistant Project Director within HMRC Estates, it will be your job to support the Director. You'll do so by ensuring the smooth running and management of a portfolio of property projects in full life-cycle.

From pre-acquisition to project handover, you'll be accountable for ensuring overall delivery of projects to time, cost and quality. While you won't have direct reports, you'll be responsible for the matrix management of project team leads and other stakeholders. This is all part of your role in ensuring high levels of team working and collaboration.

Of course, we're looking for someone who brings knowledge and practical experience from other large change projects. In fact, you'll be a great fit for this role if you have a track record in delivering GBP30m+ programmes, through the end-to-end project lifecycle.

Crucially, you'll have what it takes to lead project teams and the delivery of large modern office buildings. You'll also hold a degree or equivalent in building surveying, property, project management or a relevant construction related discipline.

Ideally, you'll also bring a recognised professional PPM or change management qualification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Practitioner, APM Practitioner Qualification (APMPQ), or the equivalent practical experience. And if you're a full member of either RICS/CIOB, all the better.

While the way you think is highly commercial (in terms of enhancing value and driving continuous improvement) you're also familiar with central government's requirements around approvals and governance. Combined, these two capabilities will make you adept at developing and delivering change in the public sector.

In return, you can look forward to a rewards package that includes:
• Competitive salary
• flexible working hours
• competitive pensions
• extensive talent, career and personal development, including a minimum 5 days' training each year
• help with caring responsibilities, including special leave
• generous paid maternity, paternity and adoption leave
• a community volunteering programme, the opportunity to join a trade union, and discounted membership of local and national sports and social groups
• salary advances for travel costs, including annual season tickets and cycle-to-work schemes

Closing date: 15 October 2018.
