Our client is a high-growth b2b business and they are now seeking an FD with previous experience working in a PE-backed company who can bring a new perspective to the way finance operates and can upgrade the finance function to ensure that it is best-in-class. The successful candidates must be driven, self-starting and comfortable having full responsibility for finance and management reporting function, supporting the Board through the preparation of budgets and financial reports and providing advice and guidance on financial strategy.
Main duties:
- To support the Board pro-actively and positively in key business decisions
- To understand the business, the marketplaces in which it operates and assist in developing the strategy
- Enhance systems and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company's finances, including the financial control framework.
- Supporting and partnering with the CEO to deliver the Company strategy.
- Ensure robust cash collection.
- Develop / enhance IT systems and processes.
- Management of external audit, tax and banking relationships.
- Lead and deliver the operations strategy.
- Supervision of long term business plan.
- Commercial judgement and ability to contribute, from a financial point of view, to commercial input during contract and pricing/ repricing negotiations.
- Ensure that accounting policies comply with relevant accounting standards and that company policies are followed.
- Company Secretariat, tax returns and reports for Government regulatory agencies
- To develop and maintain open communication with the current private equity partners
- Experience:
- A qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent).
- Experience in a Private Equity-backed company / leveraged environment essential.
- Previous experience working in a b2b business.
- A strong and up to date working knowledge of IT systems and process management.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work closely and communicate with both financial and non-financial people.
- Experience of managing a small team.
- Strong in analysis and scenario planning, with ability to deliver fast ‘helicopter view' commercial financial analysis as well as bottom up detailed modelling.
- Strong in Excel
- Private Equity/VC experience essential.
