LEGAL COUNSEL, FAMILY OFFICE, KUWAIT

CLIENT: We are exclusively retained to work with one of the top tier conglomerates of the Middle East. They are searching for their first lawyer into the group's Family Office, a newly created position in the head office in Kuwait.

ROLE: You will sit as sole Legal Counsel and have reports to both a group level GC, as well as C level business leaders on both the commercial business, and family side. The role will have autonomy, high levels of responsibility, international travel and a very diverse work load.

Some examples are contained below:

- Assist in general matters concerning the Family Office and stakeholders

- Deal with issues that arise in areas of tax and compliance

- Risk management

- International coordination of legal, financial, investment, tax and corporate advice

- Working with the group level legal department

- Drafting and negotiating complex documentation

CANDIDATE: Appropriate applicants will cover the following criteria:

- Direct experience of working at a top tier international standard law firm in a western jurisdiction, a major corporate, or a family office. Preferably a combination of the above.

- Some exposure to international tax law

- Exposure to international compliance issues

- Cross border transactional work as well as experience of structuring and assets

- Exposure to banking and finance transactions

- A strong preference will be given to bi-lingual Arabic skills

This is a very rare position and will ideally suit someone looking to move to the Middle East for the first time and take on a wide range of responsibilities.
