A senior level Commercial Finance Business Partner is required for a fast moving, market leading business. The Commercial Business Partner is a critical partner to the Sales and Service function. The role provides financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis and key support in conducting and closing business.

The role provides strong leadership for business development, strategy setting and support flawless execution of the business imperatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a commercial agenda for growth across the business, build strong relationships and maintain Commercial Finance at the heart of the sales process, including deal structuring, deal profit viability and commercial negotiations where appropriate
  • Provide a level of influence and direction to the Sales Leaders and their teams, whilst also holding them to account for delivering Plan and Forecast
  • Ensure that the Sales Leaders have the right financial data and tools available to them and help them to make use of that data to be able to monitor and manage their business pro-actively
  • Ensure that the Sales Leaders understand the financial consequences of all options available to them impacting sales and revenue and with a mindset of cost efficiency to drive operating income
  • Support the day-to-day activities of Commercial Finance, including all weekly flash reporting, monthly forecasting, annual planning and collaborating with the FP&A analysts to receive and utilise regular operational reporting and other analysis
  • Identify new business and retention improvement opportunities, support new product development and play an influential role in both internal stakeholder and external customer negotiations
  • Support a strategic, customer-focused transformation agenda across the UK, challenging the status quo and driving finance simplification, standardisation and globalisation improvement initiatives
  • Adopt a team, business, agility and development culture
  • Ensure that business is conducted according to USGAAP and that all relevant financial controls are compliant with SOX at all times

Skills, Experience and Qualifications needed:

  • Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA accountant with core accounting and strong commercial finance experience
  • Experience of working directly with a sales team, providing commercial insight and driving top and bottom-line growth
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence others
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills, together with a proactive approach
  • Ability to manage workloads to strict reporting deadlines, as well as to react flexibly to changes in requirements
  • High quality Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are essential; knowledge of Oracle, SFDC and Business Objects would be beneficial
