Due to an internal service redesign, we are now looking to recruit a Locum Children's Solicitor to work with Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council on a temporary, on-going basis. Sandwell Council is the largest employer in the borough that help provide a comprehensive range of services across its six towns. They are committed to the provision of high quality services across the borough.

Your new role

As a locum Children's Solicitor, you will be responsible for undertaking work relating to all aspects of child care matters in line with the Children's Act 1989 and Adoption and Children Act 2002. You will be responsible for a full caseload where you will be required to oversee case proceedings involving some potentially high profile cases, supervision orders, interim care orders and emergency protection orders.

What you'll need to succeed

As a qualified Solicitor, it would be highly beneficial if you had experience of working within Children's Services, however, any qualified Solicitor background would be welcome if you were willing to train in the role. This role would be a great opportunity to learn new skills and gain valuable experience in a varied area of law.
