Financial Reporting Controller (Data warehousing)
Our client (the largest and most profitable division of a FTSE listed media business), has recently re-engineered their finance function to optimise both its efficiency and quality so that it can better support business partnering. Resulting from this has come the need to recruit a high calibre Financial Reporting Controller to lead the function (3-4 finance professionals), implement and roll out a new reporting framework. This is a superb opportunity for a high calibre finance professional with strong data management experience who is looking to progress their career with a high degree of autonomy in a high performance culture where you will be a key contributor to the evolution of the finance function under the guidance of the Divisional Finance Director.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ownership of all divisional financial reporting - analysis, forecasting, budgeting and planning;
- Manage the development and roll out of a new financial reporting tool to enhance reporting capability and quality;
- Evolve the Data Warehousing environment;
- Implementation and utilisation of data cubes to help drive Business Intelligence (BI);
- Leading, coaching and motivating the reporting team; Key stakeholder management.
Candidate Attributes and Experience
- A qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), or equivalent with exceptional financial reporting experience gained in a corporate environment.
- Demonstrable experience of implementing processes and procedures to meet financial reporting ‘best practice' / raising the bar in terms of reporting standards.
- Strong systems skills; experience of TM1 or similar, data warehousing / data management environment and data cubes;
- Able to deliver rigorous, accurate, timely management information while managing tight deadlines;
- Character and Style - high energy, hungry, driven and ambitious, decisive, open-minded, flexible, able to deal with change, ‘hands-on', a ‘true contributor', team player, collaborative;
- Excellent verbal and written communications; Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity;
- Deadline driven.
