Financial Controller

Reporting to the CFO at this high profile, PE backed infrastructure business you will lead on all financial accounting, controls, reporting and regulatory financial matters within the company. You will be responsible for developing high quality financial governance, processes and reporting whilst managing cost and driving growth.

You will work closely with shareholders, banks, regulators, HMRC, auditors and suppliers and will need strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with and support the CFO on strategic and financial issues and leading the financial accounting and control team
• Lead, manage and coach a finance team of 4 into becoming highly visible, influential and delivering first-class service across the business
• Ensure the business meets its financial accounting; management reporting; treasury; and corporation/VAT tax requirements, as well as delivering the monthly payroll;
• Drive finance business partnering throughout the organisation
• Own the finance systems (Access Dimensions and Focal Point) and processes.
• Insightful management reporting and cash flow forecasting that ensures the business manages risk and outperforms targets; and
• Efficient treasury and tax management including bank relationship management and management of liquidity, interest and currency risk.

Specification:

• An ACA qualified accountant with practice and industry experience, ideally with some regulatory exposure.
• Relevant up to date accounting knowledge with some treasury / tax exposure and experience of delivering financial control and insightful management reporting.
• Finance systems management experience.
• Previous team management experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels including C-suite.
