JOB TITLE: Technology Solicitor

PQE REQUIRED: 3-7 years PQE

LOCATION: Birmingham

SALARY: Excellent + Benefits

THE ROLE:

The appointed Technology Solicitor will become a key member of this leading technology team and will have the opportunity to become involved in tech, media, telecoms and the consumer/retail sectors. The team as a whole are growing rapidly and have developed a real expertise in advising on major, high value projects relating to IT/system procurements and a range of outsourcing transactions. For the successful Technology Solicitor, this role will include advising on technology contracts, assisting on technology outsourcing projects and support on corporate deals. In addition, due to the level of this role, it will be expected that the appointed Technology Solicitor will undertake business development and assist in ensuring the department and firm meets their objectives.

THE CANDIDATE:

The ideal Technology Solicitor will have a good grounding in this area of law and will ideally have had at least three years of post qualified experience gained in another leading, technology practice. It is expected that the appointed Technology Solicitor will have a solid understanding of contracts terms in addition to the key commercial and operational issues that arise as part of these deals. The successful Technology Solicitor will be able to demonstrate strong analytical skills and a good attention to detail. It is important that the Technology Solicitor has good communication skills and are able to demonstrate that they can build a good rapport with clients. It is expected that the Technology Solicitor will have had a significant amount of experience doing business development and will ideally have built up a strong network of contacts with this area.
