An international technology business specialising in software and computing platforms are looking to hire an additional in-house legal counsel with specialism in commercial contracts.

The Role and Responsibilities

The purpose of the new legal counsel will be to give technical legal and commercial input to external customer and supplier contracts, projects and other business activities. The successful in-house legal counsel will liaise with colleagues across the business, working on multi-disciplinary teams in marketing, finance, engineering and HR, across numerous international jurisdictions. Other responsibilities of the legal counsel include:

• Working on bid reviews
• Negotiating key supplier agreements
• Liaising with external panel solicitors
• Providing input in to a wide range of other legal matters

The Candidate

The company are looking to appoint a commercially astute legal counsel with sound abilities in negotiation, influence and communication. Other required skills and experience include:

• Strong black letter legal skills around contracts and contract law, ideally gained from a recognised commercial law firm
• At least 3- 5 years contractual and commercial experience with a demonstrable track record in the IP / IT field
• Ideally the legal counsel will have in-house experience with a technology company

This is a varied role where you'll need to have strong technical legal skills around contracts, licenses, sales tenders, projects and procured services and provision of specialist advice.
