In House Legal Counsel

Our client is a major international business, with significant operations in the North East, and an well-established and significantly sized legal and commercial team. The company has a strong 'brand' and works as a major player at the forefront of its industry.

Their current need is to hire a commercial contracts manager / lawyer to undertake an interim role covering maternity leave, working closely with and supporting the sales teams on a range of commercial contract negotiations. You'll need to ensure that the high value and complex contracts mitigate risk to the business, whilst at the same time helping to get the deal done.

For this role, you could be a qualified solicitor or have extensive commercial contracts skills gained in-house. What's most important are to have the commercial 'nous' to be fully involved in negotiations and the technical ability to ensure excellently drafted contracts. You'll also need strong communications skills, as you could be working with wither a senior board member on one project or junior line manager on another.
