Our client is a major international business with turnover in the hundreds of millions and a blue chip client base. Their commercially focussed legal team requires additional resource as the business continues to grow.

You'll be a commercial solicitor (or commercial manager with relevant expertise) you will advise and support the business, proactively providing contractual legal advice and support to the relevant sales, procurement and tendering teams. You will support on contractual management, review terms and conditions, negotiate agreements and advise on risk profiles. In addition you will participate in legal projects, support the development of effective claim management and dispute avoidance, and advise on disputes with customers, sub-contractors and suppliers.

To succeed in this role you'll need to be resilient, capable of operating on own, and you will have strong contracts drafting skills, though your commercial instincts are more important than 'black letter law' experience.

You will be a lawyer with a track record in 'business law' environment (be that from a contracts, corporate, projects, litigation or banking background) and probably possess between 2-7 years' pqe, ideally gained at a major commercial law firm or well respected in house team. Although we are open on your area of specialism and level of experience, what is key for us is your personality. We are looking for an individual with a positive 'can do' attitude who shows the ability to adapt in a commercially driven environment. The key criteria for this role is to be pragmatic and commercially minded, and to be comfortable in a fast moving and dynamic business. You'll equally have strong communications skills for you will interact with a variety of business people at all levels.
