Finance Director

Our client is a well established FMCG company, looking for a driven and ambitious Finance Director to support the business in the next phase of its growth agenda. This exciting opportunity will see the successful candidate playing a major role in the growth of the business and be a critical part of the leadership team. Reporting directly to the MD, you will be instrumental in the strategic development of all areas of the business. You will also be responsible for leading a large-scale IT systems project to help support the future growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leading, mentoring and developing a small finance team
• Take a proactive role with the leadership team to formulate and execute the strategic plan
• Overall responsibility for the finance function through accurate financial forecasting, month end, year end, annual budgeting, cash management and preparation of financial accounts
• A key initial project will be to lead the project that successfully designs, procures and implements a robust, compliant business wide IT system.
• A trusted advisor to the MD offering key business, financial, commercial and operational insights, and challenge the status quo where appropriate
• Develop, implement and manage the internal controls and compliance function
• Develop the Short, Medium and Long Term strategic plan

To be considered, you will be a fully qualified accountant with a structured career history demonstrating logical progression and broad skills to add significant value to an expanding yet large SME. You will be a very hands-on FD / CFO, who will be highly visible at all levels of the business. You will also have a proven track record of successful IT implementations, and be able to demonstrate the positive impact you have had on the growth of other businesses within an FMCG / manufacturing setting.
