The Company for the Group Director of FP&A

Role overview for the Group Director of FP&A 

The Group Director of FP&A will support the board's decision making and long term strategic planning through the provision of high quality financial information. Business partnering the Group Directors, Country Heads and broader senior management team, this individual will play a key role in helping to drive business deliverables in line with the wider strategy of the business.

Key responsibilities will include for the Group Director of FP&A :

  • Leading and owning the short and longer term financial planning process of the Group, including owning the timetables, inputs and outputs and analysis
  • Creating an environment of optimal forecasting certainty, enhancing the Board's decision making and ability to manage market expectations of the forward outlook
  • Challenging individual functional and country budgets and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities, and actively seeking solutions to issues.
  • Ultimate responsibility for the management of the Group's monthly forecasting (inc. P&L, cash flow and capex) and variance analysis.
  • A strong commercial focus driving margin and bottom line profitability, working capital management and cash generation, ensuring KPIs are delivered in line with Group financial targets.
  • Managing complex relationships across Finance and Countries to deliver cost synergies and or margin growth
  • Simplifying and reducing complexity of forecasting across the Group wherever possible, harmonising across geographies and using Cognos to reduce manual processes
  • Reviewing and signing off investment cases from the business units in line with capex budgets.
  • Maintaining relationships with auditors and supporting the audit process (technical papers, 5 year plan etc)
  • Leadership of the FP&A team and developing the talent within it, creating a high performance team, producing first class analysis and outputs

Key requirements for the role are Group Director of FP&A :

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA with significant FP&A experience
  • Experience in agile, ambitious and fast paced businesses, ideally with experience in a listed plc environment
  • Financial services experience would be a distinct advantage, or alternatively experience in a complex, international business
  • Track record of successfully developing people
