Financial Controller

Group Financial Controller - TV & Film Production

I am looking for a capable, intelligent financial controller to join a small team at a highly regarded and successful independent production company. Offering a meticulous and creative production service to a wide range of luxury brands worldwide and can offer the perfect position for someone who enjoys a fast paced, enthusiastic and creative environment.

The role encompasses the complete financial management of the business including the management of accounts, cashflow, supplier payments and long term planning. It offers flexibility of hours while still offering a key role in an exciting and developing business.

Responsibilities & Duties:
Accounts;

• Ensure company's records are accurate and up to date on Sage
• Supervise one accounts assistant / ACCA trainee, supporting her in her development and ensuring she acquires the necessary experience in all areas of the accounts
• Work with external accountants to complete Y/E accounts
• Provide management accounts and information as required
• Prepare and check VAT returns
• Balance sheet analysis and reconciliations
• Check monthly payroll received from external accountants, liaise with them re changes and P11ds
• Ensure compliance with VAT and financial standards, and that deadlines for submissions and payments are met.

Cashflow

• Maintaining and monitoring cashflow forecast
• Preparing payment runs for suppliers
• Maintaining and recording production floats and petty cash

Sales

• Raising sales invoices as required
• Maintaining the Sales Ledger
• Monitoring and chasing debtors
• Ensuring any necessary paperwork is provided to avoid US and European withholding tax.

Purchase Invoices

• Maintaining purchase ledger
• Ensuring all purchase invoices are properly authorised and coded

Bank

• Recording payments and receipts on SAGE
• Regular bank reconciliations, regular reconciliations of company credit and charge cards
• Liaising with bank and card providers to ensure smooth running of the company's accounts and credit cards

Other

• Supporting production managers by providing information and answering queries
