Group Financial Controller

Group Financial Controller job near Chester paying £50,000 - £60,000.

Hays are working closely with a privately owned group of companies who are looking to employ a qualified Financial Controller in the Chester area. This established and diverse business has four legal entities and various assets held in trust. The business covers residential and commercial property development as well as a retail business.

As Group Financial Controller you will take ownership over all of the trading businesses and ensure that all accounts are produced in line with company and statutory requirements. Each business has it's own intricacies and there are external advisers who take control of all Tax related work. They are also there to assist with any queries. The owners of the business are looking for detailed monthly reporting on each area of the business highlighting positive and negative results.

We are looking for qualified accountants who can demonstrate a proven background in a Group environment and preferably have worked in a related industry. This is a hands on role and you will be responsible for managing a small team of three and reporting into the Board of Directors. You will have previous experience of liaising with external professionals including lawyers, accountants and the Bank - this requires showing gravitas to represent the company appropriately.

The successful applicant will join a highly profitable Group of companies who have a strong cash position and looking to expand the business into new areas. The Group Financial Controller will work with the Directors to identify new opportunities and build financial models to help with scenario planning. The office environment is modern and car parking will be made available.
