As Manager Business Accounts you will lead a proactive and effective business accounts service which supports and facilitates the achievement of the RCN Group's aims and objectives. You will proactively lead the continuous development of the RCN Group's budgetary control and management information systems to ensure resources are effectively managed to accommodate the changing needs and priorities of the RCN Group so that it in turn can provide the services members and other stakeholders want and need. You will be responsible for ensuring the production of accurate and timely management accounts and other management information, as required, to RCN Council, the Executive Team, Senior Managers and other budget holders. 

Responsible for RCN Group finance management information systems you will work closely with finance colleagues from across the RCN Group to ensure all statutory accounts and returns are prepared under the correct accounting regulations, are accurate and prepared to agreed deadlines, as such you will be a key contact for external auditors. 

the Manager Business Accounts will lead a team of Senior Business Accountants and Assistant Business Accountants. Together you and your team will provide proactive and effective support to RCN directorates and departments covering a wide range of financial and business matters, understanding their different priorities and pressures and ensuring their voices are heard to facilitate the ability of RCN Council and the Executive Team to make informed and effective business decisions. 

You will lead the development and delivery of relevant financial awareness and training ensuring RCN Group senior managers and officials have the appropriate financial knowledge and skills to engage in effective decision making.

The role of Manager Business Accounts is a pivotal and dynamic position within both the finance department and the wider RCN and RCN Group, you will have the opportunity to work closely with senior managers across the RCN Group and be involved in the development of Group wide policy and projects which will help shape the future of the RCN Group. As a member of the finance department's senior management team you will play a key role in the continuous development and enhancement of all finance policy and processes which reach across the RCN Group. Your role will require engagement across a variety of financial disciplines which will allow you to utilise and develop your skills and knowledge across areas such as accounting frameworks, PAYE, VAT and Corporation Tax, system development as well as enhancing your presentation and facilitation skills.

To succeed in this role you will hold a recognised CCAB qualification, be able to demonstrate experience of leading transformational change within finance teams, excellent project management and communication skills and have significant experience in other business / management accounting roles. You will bring to the role a desire to innovate and develop best practice across the RCN Group with regard to continuous improvement of processes and information management and the ability to enthuse and encourage others to embrace change and appreciate the bigger picture.
