Sports & Leisure organisation based in London Birdge - Financial Controller to manage the Finance team :£80k

Your new company:

A large organisation focused in the sports and leisure industry. This organisation has an income of approximately £85M and has a presence throughout the UK although it's head office is based in London Bridge. This is an innovative and growing organisation organisation that is making a big impact.

Your new role:
The client is seeking someone who will challenge and influence the organisation and add sophistication to some of their current systems and processes. You will report to the Director of Finance & Resources and manage a team that will include the Financial/Management Accountant, Accounts Payable Supervisor, Payroll Manager, Revenue Controller, and the Office Manager. You will be responsible for all aspects of day to day finance including management/financial accounting, audit, and transaction processing. You will also be responsible for:

• Financial Control: development & monitoring of all financial controls; development & delivery of budget & forecast; assist EMT in monitoring of results and enforcement of budget targets; review & analysis of performance with recommended actions.

• Profit Protection: develop, implement and deliver pro-active strategies to prevent revenue or cash leakage from the business.

• Decision Support: provision & development of effective decision support for Management in relation to investment and all other commercial matters and post-implementation evaluation.

• Management: deputise for FD (Board & Management Meetings where necessary); provision of effective direction to Finance team.

What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications

• University honours degree.
• Accounting qualification (preferably CIMA, ACA or ACCA).

Experience

• Responsibility for year end accounts preparation.
• Liaison and management of external audit.
• Multi-site business to consumer organisations
